17th January

August 28th - Lee performed at Grimsby Auditorium on Sunday 22nd August and gave us yet another fantastic show. There was a write up about it in the Grimsby Telegraph, specifically because Lee did the show in aid of the "Big Red Heart Appeal".

August 28th -  Lee, Jodie Prenger (Lady of the Lake in Spamalot) and Claire Sweeney (Tell Me On A Sunday) are among artistes lined up to appear in Sunday Lunch with the Stars at Hitchin Priory on September 19th. They are close friends of former Hitchin actor Neil Rutherford, the fourth member of the cabaret team.
Neil has organised the charity cabaret lunch in aid of the new youth wing at Hitchin’s Queen Mother Theatre.
Chartridge Conference Company is allowing free use of its 200-seat Priory marquee for the event which includes a drinks reception and three-course Sunday lunch before the cabaret.

Application forms for tickets are available at Hitchin Town Centre Initiative office, 27 Churchyard (01462 453335) or from appeal secretary Paula Downes via e-mail paula.downes@ntlworld.com

Some more information we found out is that the tickets are £60 each and include reception drink, three course lunch then entertainment by Lee Mead, Jodie Prenger and Claire Sweeney. Tickets can be purchased individually or in blocks of 10 or 12 (table sizes). And The reception will start at 12.45 p.m., the luncheon at 1.30 p.m. and the Cabaret at 3 p.m. This will be followed by an auction and it is  anticipated the event will finish around 5p.m

August 28th - Press Release received.... and yes, Lee is part of the "present" cast of Wicked that will be appearing.

ON October 10th 2010 the Apollo Victoria Theatre will celebrate its 80th birthday with a special Gala Performance featuring the cast of Wicked and a host of Musical stars, including a very special reunion of performers from STARLIGHT EXPRESS.

Being produced by Wicked’s UK Associate Director, Petra Siniawski and UK Dance Captain, Adam Murray, the Gala Performance will be a showcase of songs which have been performed on the theatre’s stage over its 80 years and all excess proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Cancer Research UK. There will also be a raffle of amazing prizes in support of the Entertainment Artiste’s Benevolent Fund on the evening itself.

As well as the stars of Wicked (past and present) the Gala Performance will feature Patina Miller (Sister Act), the Divas (Priscilla), The Jersey Boys, and a very special one-off reunion of performers from the Apollo Victoria’s longest-running show Starlight Express, with many more to be announced.

The Gala Performance will be the finale to a day of celebrations which will see the venue, noted for its architectural significance, opened to the public for talks, tours and a specially curated display telling the building’s varied and fascinating story.

Tickets for the Gala Performance will be on sale from Friday 13th August 2010 from the theatre box office, Ticketmaster and some ticketing agents. Ticket prices from £15 to £60 and all excess proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Cancer Research UK

24th March - Just had to bring to your attention this online article from www.music.co.uk, about Lee and his move to 'Wicked', the imminent arrival of his baby and his concerts. Very proud of the fact that whilst they point out that his official website is out of date due to management changes, they direct everybody to this website for all the latest Lee Mead news, photos and information. Woo hoo!! Good times!

 -  Curly Liz sent me me some photos of an advertising board that was on display in a shopping centre in Chelmsford, advertising a forthcoming show at The Civic Centre in Chelmsford. The advertisers obviously felt that if they showed pictures of Lee when he performed in "Pineapple Poll" many moons ago in that same theatre, then it would help to pull in the punters!!!! Don't blame them hey?!

28th January - Our man is back in the West End!!! He never ceases to surprise us does he? Here is the official announcement on the WICKED website. Lee is quoted as saying....."I'm really excited to be returning to the West End in this incredible show" (ThePressAssociation).

14th January - A couple of online articles to share with you: 'Newsshopper' and 'The Times Online', both with new photos of Lee!!

14th January - I have started a page for all your reviews of 'Lord Arthur Savile's Crime'. Please send me in your thoughts of Lee's performance and the play as a whole, and if you manage to snap him at the stage door, even better! Chrissi starts us off with her review of the opening night at Windsor (Jan 12).

14th January - I met a very nice guy called Haseeb at the Stage Door of the Royal Albert Hall, who kindly agreed to send me some photos of Lee that he has taken at various events that Lee has attended or performed at. He takes photos of celebrities as a hobby but as they are so good, I have decided to create a dedicated page to show them off, as and when he very generously sends them to me. So for starters, you can see Haseeb's photos taken at the GMTV studios back in early November, when Lee was interviewed with Sharon Corr about the recording of the "All you need is love" single at the Abbey Road Studios.

14th January - Lee was chatting on BBC Breakfast, the day before the opening night of Lord Arthur Savile's Crime at Windsor. You can see the interview here and here are just a handful of screenies, courtesy of Ro and the Timeline.

14th January - I have a nice picture that I managed to take of Lee at the Barbican on the 21st December, when he joined Hayley Westenra on the stage for a duet or two and a couple of other solo songs.
