The much anticipated debut album of West End star Lee Mead is announced!

 The Official Photos..............

It’s the news that all Lee Mead fans have been waiting for – Lee’s debut album will hit the shops on November 19th!

Lee is currently putting the finishing touches to the record, self titled ‘Lee Mead’, which is being produced by top music label “Fascination”, an offshoot of “Polydor”.

After much speculation about the album’s play list, we can announce that the first single to be released will be Gonna Make You A Star. Originally a number one hit back in 1974 for David Essex, the single will be released on 3rd December 2007. Also, Take That’s Gary Barlow went to see Lee in Joseph earlier this year and as a result has written a new song called When I Need You The Most for the album. ‘Lee Mead’ will also include the hugely popular Paint It Black as performed with great success on the BBC’s Any Dream Will Do, along with the official ‘Children In Need’ single Any Dream Will Do which reached number two in the UK singles chart in the summer.

11th October -Bid for Meady Bear with Teddy Bear Scene and help Children in Need!!!!!!!! read below this.........

If you’d like to make your own Meady Bear, turn to page 52 for Rita Harwood’s pattern and instructions. But if you want to own the original 9-inch mohair bear which was designed and created by Rita and comes with a laminated commemoration card signed by Lee himself, why not bid for him in our Silent Auction? The person who bids the highest amount will also receive a signed photo of Lee which was given to Kathy Martin by the man himself on September 19th. Remember, Lee is 100% behind the project.

How the Silent Auction works

If this unique bear was for sale, he would have a retail price of £99 but we are starting the bidding at £79. So this is what you have to do: decide how much you are willing to pay for Meady Bear, then notify us of this amount by letter or email, making sure we receive your bid no later than 30th November 2007. Include your name, address and telephone number so we can contact you if you are the high bidder. We will notify the high bidder within 48 hours of the bidding closing.

The person who bids the highest amount will win the bear for the amount they have stated. So, for example, if there are bids of £90, £100, £150 and £200, the person who bid £200 will be the winning bidder. They will send us a cheque for £200 and once this has been received, the bear will be sent to them by Royal Mail Special Delivery.  Teddy Bear Scene will cover the postage costs. (It may be possible to pay by credit card or Paypal but a cheque is preferred as the other methods incur charges which would reduce the amount raised).

In the event of more than one person bidding the highest amount, the winning bidder will be deemed to be the first person to register their bid. Send your bids by post to Meady Bear, Ursus House, 210 Finchampstead Road, Wokingham, Berks RG40 3HB or by email to kathym@warnersgroup.co.uk You may also use this email address if you have any queries about how the auction works. Please remember that all the money raised by the sale of Meady Bear will go to Children in Need, so please bid generously.

Now in its 25th Year, the annual Rear of the Year competition, as well as being a fun award, is also a highly respected charitable organisation. This year they are promoting the struggle against Bowel Cancer, which is one of the most treatable yet deadly forms of the disease.

As well as being very flattered to receive the award, Lee is honoured to be associated with so worthy a cause:

“I need stamina to perform on stage every night, so it's important for me to stay in shape. 7th August - Rush to the nearest shop and pick up this week's copy of Heat Magazine, Lee is featured as 'The Torso of the Week'  I think they have got it wrong though, more like the 'Torso of the Year' if not the 'Decade!'  Smaller scan of image here, click to download larger version!

31st July - Update from Lee's agent - re: Lewisgate and the whether Lee will be dropping shows the answer is NO!!!!  Copy of new email below!  There is a GOD!  Now relax and enjoy Lee's LoveLEENESS!!!

'Hi Donna

Lee will not be dropping any shows – the press, as per usual, have got it wrong.

The only shows he will be having off (unless he is sick) are the ones published on the news page of our website.

C x'

31st July -  Something to take your mind off all the worrying, an interview from the official site from opening night, Lee talks about being a sex symbol - it's the purple lining that does it!  He is clearly happy and relaxed in the company of another Essex Boy!  Want to keep the file then download it here!

31st July - Another Lewisgate story - they are wrong on the nine show a week, that we already know, but they are still reporting that Lee will only be doing seven shows a week! Please RUG can we have some official news!!!

30th July - Lewisgate once more, I wrote to Lee's agents this afternoon regarding the rumours and have just heard back from them, I have copied and pasted the email below - definitely no ninth performance and confirmation that RUG will make announcements re: Lee's holiday, maybe that is where Lewis will come in?  I don't know!

'Dear Donna,

We were in discussions with RUG last week about the 9th performance idea and we have since been told that this idea has been dropped.

RUG will make casting announcements regarding cover for Lee’s holiday dates when they feel it appropriate.

I hope that helps.

Best wishes,

Claire'

30th July - LEWISGATE - read about it here - more concerns that Lee will not be performing in all the shows!  According to this article, Lewis Bradley will replacing Lee for one show per week, it doesn't say which one!!!  Annoyed, worried about your tickets, well contact  RUG!!  - Update from RUG, copy of email received by a website regular - are they sitting on the fence or are they politely quashing the rumour? I would like to think it is the latter!  Read for yourself

'Thank you for your mail.

We are aware that there were some stories circulating in the media this weekend concerning casting for Joseph with particular reference to a 9th performance.  We would like to confirm that there will not be a regular additional weekly show and that Joseph will be continuing with the 8 performances per week as per the original schedule.

If there is any further news concerning either casting or performances, you can be assured that it will be announced on the official website.

Best Regards

Really Useful Group Online Team'

30th July - Two new wallpapers to adorn your computer screens with from the official Joseph site - links here, download them, sit back, relax and enjoy!!!!  Loin cloth alert!!!

30th July - Two new videos from Youtube of Lee with McFly, first one is fan footage in which you see the gorgeous Lee bouncing around and second is official footage from the ADWD show - enjoy!  I will also link them from my Media page later!

30th July - This story broke yesterday, I am not convinced of its authenticity though, claims that Lewis Bradley from ADWD will be starring as Joseph in a new ninth show a week?  The reasons I am sceptical is that the source have not got his surname correct, referring to his as Lewis 'Shaw' and also who else in the cast will want to put on a ninth show?  Are the whole cast going to be new? or are they going to circulate cast members so they all get a random day off a week!  If the random days spread to Lee taking days off there will be uproar!  A few people have contacted me about this.  All I can advise is that you write to RUG, contact details here, and voice your concerns.  On a more positive note though, they do substantiate the claims that Lee is currently working on a solo album!  Let's hope they've got this story right!

29th July -Spent most of this morning trying to sort out videos into categories for you!  Still some ones outstanding, so if you spot anything that needs adding then email me the links!  I know there are some that are featured on this page that still need to be added too and will do those later!  I am mainly looking for good ADWD ones and fan ones that capture his loveLEEness!  So thanks guys off you  go to enjoy your audio and visual treats!  If I can get permission from the makers, I will be able to make them available for download too!

28th July - Win a chance to meet Lee in his dressing room!  Sign up to the mailing list on Lee's Official Site, follow the links from the 'Press' section and Good Luck!

28th July - There is an interview with Preeya Kalidas in Hello Magazine, it sounds as though she is a fan of his giggles too!  Lucky girl though, managing to listen to them on a daily basis.  Read some of the text here, she is talking about getting the part of the narrator and watching ADWD: 'Two weeks later, the BBC launched ADWD.  "And nobody watched it more keenly than me," laughs Preeya.  "I wanted to see who my leading man was going to be."  From the start, she thought Lee was the best.  "Hand on heart, from his very first audition," says the 26 year-old actress.  "He had it all - a great voice, good looks and the maturity to end each performance convincingly as the Prince of Egypt.  Some of the others sang well too, but they were still boys." She met Lee two days after the final.  "We clicked immediately," reveals Preeya.  "He was exactly like he'd seemed on television - sweet, a bit anxious sometimes and hard working.  He's also a giggler, which I like."  Page One and Page Two

This review states 'I don't think anyone could have taken the lead better than Mead'   A lovely comment to make about this wonderful performer and we are all inclined to agree - read the rest here!

A fan's side of the story - funny enough, but worthy of note for the lovely close up photograph of Lee and his gorgeous lashes! see below

Another sabotage story about the first night - but great photos from Lee's dressing room, albeit with Preeya rather than me! and a lovely photo of Lee donning the infamous loin cloth!

Another regional review from Buckingham today - but they know talent when they see it!

Short and sweet but it seems that London.net appreciate the gorgeous one too!

This one is positive too!  Looks like Lee and the cast can do no wrong!

Regional papers all seem to like Lee in the role, though comments on Lee's hair will not be taken lightly by regulars to this site!  Beware!  This is London are more complimentary and talk about the enthusiasm!

If you haven't already bought it go out and buy the latest edition of Heat magazine for this photo alone!  Article on the opening night of Joseph!  Interview found here and here. Larger copy of photo here

Great fan video too on youtube! Lots of stills but worthy of a look!

22nd July - Just managed to squeeze in one last update to the site, before I was pulled into the car, kicking and screaming, to get away on that holiday!  Another lovely review of Joseph in which

'Lee Mead, from Essex, cab driver’s son and winner of the television talent show Any Dream Will Do, takes to the West End stage in nothing but a skimpy loincloth and a smile. How does he fare? He’s perfect. With his flashing white teeth and dark ringlets, he could just about pass as an ancient Hebrew – more so than Jason Donovan, anyway. And his voice, though sometimes stretched to the limit, has real power and resonance' See listen Lee, like we said all along you are 'perfect!'

22nd July - More true fan montages video from the final episode of ADWD with lots of 'perfect' clips of the man himself!  I like this prefer this one, watch for that little wink, heavenLEE!

Well, he had better learn quickly!  As there are a lot of us!  Plus he talks about his winning celebrations at home for Sunday lunch with his mum and dad and a walk with the dog.  He comes across as grounded and unassuming.  I love the way he talks of meeting his girlfriend Kerry Stammers and whether he was unsure as to ask her out as she was in the same company and that would be mixing his professional and personal life - I wonder if she realises what a lucky girl she is?  Grab a copy if you can, no new photos though!

29th June - The Princess Diana Concert is being televised and Lee is on it, time 6.45 GMT follow this link for more details:  Here and here too: Official site
