    Radlett Centre

I was very happy that Lee chose to do a show at The Radlett Centre as it is my local theatre. Just 2 stops on the train.

I went with my OH. It was his first time seeing "My Story" and he enjoyed it very much.

Before the show we got chatting with a lady and her granddaughter.

It was their first time seeing Lee and they loved every minute of the show.

      Last Weekend : My Story

I hope that most of us has managed to catch Lee at least once or twice this year. The last two "Lee Mead My Story" are Royal Hippodrome Eastbourne on Friday 8th November and Civic Theatre Chelmsford on Sunday 10th November. As you are probably all aware Lee had to cancel Loughborough Town Hall on Saturday. That has been rescheduled for 13/6/20 Lee has been invited by the Royal British Legion to do a reading at the annual Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall to commemorate all those who have lost their lives in conflict in the presence of Her Majesty The Queen. Wouldn't it be amazing if he was asked to sing "Bring him home" again. That was one of my most memorable of Lee's performances. So who is going to see Lee this weekend????

      Lichfield. Garrick Theatre 21/09/2019

This was my first visit to see Lee in quite a while although I play his CD's in my car regularly. Lichfield is within an hours drive of where I live and my daughter kindly agreed to take me there. She was also with me on one of the early London "Joseph" visits. We had an enjoyable day exploring Lichfield and found interesting places for coffee and our evening meal before making our way to the centrally situated Garrick Theatre. There was the usual excited chatter while we waited for Lee's entrance. I am not sure that I was entirely comfortable with the format of the show but did think that it showcased Lee's voice and I also learned some new things about him. His voice seemed stronger and more confident than when I saw him last which was some time ago. I like the way he acts through every song and I have always loved the timbre of his voice. Highlights for me were "Let her down easy" and "Make you feel my Love" Both songs are covers but he made them his own and sang them with great emotion. Stephen Rahman Hughes made a guest appearance and sang "Both Sides Now" A song I will always associate with Joni Mitchell's version in "Love Actually" The show ended as usual with all the audience enthusiastically joining in with "Any Dream Will Do" For the lady sitting next to me it was her first visit to hear Lee sing live and she obviously enjoyed it. As for me I will continue to enjoy following Lee's career and take pleasure from listening to his singing.

      Pheasantry 2019

Well somehow I found myself heading off down the Kings Rd Chelsea to The Pheasantry. I love this venue. It's so intimate and friendly. It sort of hugs you as you settle down to watch Lee trying out new songs and new styles. Well this weekends shows have certainly ramped up the way we see and hear songs. Lee has done various versions of Paint it Black but now this unique dark Gothic version brings out the heartache and darkness of the lyrics in a powerful way. Amazing Grace...... #Amazing Gethsemane was the best I have ever heard. I couldn't breath towards the end of that song I love Lee's rendition of Make you feel my love and last night sitting with my OH when Lee sang Better bought a tear to my eye. This is the song that we call our "Anniversary song". Some of us belong to the stars and Lee is up there front and centre.
